Controversies Concerning Diagnosis & Treatment of Temporomandibular Disorders

This two hour tape uses an illustrated interview format to present questions about controversies that have great importance to restorative dentistry because of a growing body of literature that is being seriously questioned by many clinicians and academicians. The controversies related to occlusion and to diagnosis and treatment of TMJ disorders have an important impact on many aspects of restorative dentistry, as well as on the teaching of proper occlusion and the role of dentists as physicians of the masticatory system. It is hoped that this frank discussion of some of the most prevalent controversies will stimulate enlightened research through 1) improved classification of specific masticatory system disorders, 2) better understanding of current diagnostic capabilities, and 3) more careful observation of clearly defined and verified clinical results.
